We offer the Business Days Calculator, which counts the working days between two dates or adds working days to a date, with weekends and public holidays taken out.
The Business Days Calculator counts the working days between any two dates, always skipping weekends and, when you pick a holiday set, its public holidays too. Enter the start and end dates: the start date is counted and the end date is not, which is the usual convention for project planning.
Calendar days include all days (weekends and holidays), while business days exclude weekends and holidays. The Date Difference Calculator gives you the calendar-day and weekday counts between two dates; the Business Days Calculator on this hub then takes the public holidays out as well.
Each holiday in the set you choose is taken out of the count, and the result lists exactly which ones so you can check it. The Business Days Calculator offers three settings: weekends only, US federal holidays, or England and Wales bank holidays. There is no way to add your own dates. See the Holiday Calculator for the full lists.
Yes, the Business Days Calculator helps plan project timelines by counting the working days to a deadline, or by adding a number of business days to a start date.
In the Business Days Calculator, switch to "add or subtract business days", enter a start date and a number of days. A negative number counts backwards; weekends and your chosen holidays are skipped.
Two national sets. US federal holidays: New Year's Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Presidents' Day, Memorial Day, Juneteenth, Independence Day, Labor Day, Columbus Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas Day, each taken on its observed day when it falls at a weekend. England and Wales bank holidays: New Year's Day, Good Friday, Easter Monday, the early May and spring bank holidays, the summer bank holiday, Christmas Day and Boxing Day, with substitute days. Scotland and Northern Ireland are not covered, and nor are state, county or company days. The Holiday Calculator lists both sets for any year.
Yes, the Business Days Calculator counts the working days in a pay period, skipping weekends and the US federal or England and Wales holidays you choose.
Business days vary by country: weekend patterns and public holidays both differ. The Business Days Calculator treats Saturday and Sunday as the weekend and knows two national holiday sets, US federal and England and Wales. For anywhere else, count with weekends only and take that country's holidays off yourself. Use the Time Zone Converter for global coordination.
Our calculators provide accurate business day calculations for most purposes. For legal contract deadlines, always verify with appropriate legal counsel as requirements may vary. Review our terms of service for disclaimers.
Combine business day calculations with our time zone tools for international meeting scheduling. This ensures meetings fall on business days across all participating time zones.
Not directly. The Business Days Calculator counts whole working days, not hours, so multiply its answer by the length of your working day. For hours and minutes between two clock times, use the Time Duration Calculator.
The Business Days Calculator counts whole days only; there is no half-day option. Count the whole days with it, then work the part-days out separately in the Time Duration Calculator, which handles hours and minutes between two clock times.
Business day calculators work well with our business calculators: the ROI Calculator, the Break-Even Analysis Calculator and the Profit Margin Calculator.
Not inside the calculator. The Business Days Calculator skips weekends and one of two national holiday sets, US federal or England and Wales, and there is no way to add your own dates. It does list every holiday it removed, so for a company or regional calendar start from that list and take your extra days off by hand. The Holiday Calculator gives the national dates for any year.
