Frequently Asked Questions
Multiply the Celsius value by 9/5 and add 32. So 20 °C becomes 20 × 1.8 + 32 = 68 °F.
Absolute zero is −273.15 °C, 0 K, −459.67 °F or 0 °R: the point at which no further heat can be removed. Nothing can be colder, so rather than printing a number for an impossible input, this converter says so.
Rankine is an absolute scale that uses Fahrenheit-sized degrees, so 0 °R is absolute zero. It appears mainly in US engineering, particularly thermodynamics.
Results are shown to four decimal places, or in scientific notation when a value is very large or very small. The conversion itself is done at full precision.
